In this post I like to take you a bit inland Costa del Sol. This to show you how beautiful life in Andalucia can be. I have selected 2 properties that deserve attention, in this case 2 fantastic Cortijos, one in Comares and one in Frigilliana.
Let start with the one in Comares.

An Andalusian Paradise for the Soul
Welcome to Andalusia, a land of golden hills, whispering olive groves, and centuries-old heritage.
Nestled in the heart of La Axarquía, just 40 km from Málaga and within easy reach of Seville, Córdoba, and Granada, this exceptional Cortijo captures the true essence of southern Spain — a private world of serenity, beauty, and timeless design.

Where History Meets Harmony
This Andalusian hacienda offers almost 500 m² of refined living space on 8,000 m² of landscaped grounds.
Lovingly restored over two decades, it welcomes up to ten guests with five spacious bedrooms and four bathrooms, all radiating calm and authenticity.
Inspired by Moorish architecture and the elegant simplicity of monastic design, the home blends traditional craftsmanship with modern comfort.
Ten unique terraces invite you to enjoy every mood — panoramic, shaded, or intimate — while gardens filled with jasmine, jacaranda, hibiscus, and citrus create a lush oasis year-round, maintained by a full irrigation and lighting system.
At the center, a 15 × 4 m swimming pool shimmers against the mountain backdrop, beside a tranquil Andalusian patio and ancient stone fountain — the perfect spot for coffee at sunrise or wine at dusk.

Crafted for Comfort and Independence
Behind the romance lies practicality:
A 130-meter private well with filtration and a 10,000-liter main deposit ensures full autonomy, supported by two reserve tanks of 30,000 liters each. Solar panels heat the water sustainably, and a large private parking area accommodates up to seven cars.
Among the fruit trees — over sixty in total — a private chapel and meditation corner provide space for reflection and peace.

A Lifestyle with Purpose
Whether as a private retreat, a family residence, or a boutique B&B venture, this property offers a rare harmony of nature, culture, and comfort.
Already organised for hospitality use, it combines soulful living with investment potential — a home that truly gives back.
Above all, this Cortijo invites you to pause, breathe, and live slowly — surrounded by sunlight, authenticity, and the unmistakable spirit of Andalusia.

The price of this beautiful property is 1.650.000 Euros.

The other
I like to show you is a breathtaking Cortijo, just 500 meters from the enchanting village of Frigiliana.
A Timeless Andalusian Retreat in Frigiliana

Where heritage, nature and harmony meet under the Costa del Sol sun
Just five hundred meters from the postcard-perfect village of Frigiliana and four kilometres from the beaches of Nerja, an extraordinary Cortijo awaits — a rare estate that captures the poetry of Andalusian living.
Set amid more than 7,000 m² of lush, mature gardens, this mid-century property unfolds as three detached homes built in classic Andalusian style, each offering its own balance of privacy, intimacy, and charm. Whether envisioned as a refined Bed & Breakfast, a multi-generational family haven, or an investment with proven rental success, the possibilities are as generous as the views.

A Setting Steeped in Story
Located in the heart of Málaga Province, Frigiliana is often hailed as one of Spain’s most beautiful white villages — a maze of cobblestone lanes painted with Arab, Jewish, and Christian history. The estate itself holds its own legend: once home to an English naval engineer and an actress who introduced the Californian Fuerte avocado to the region in the 1960s, forever linking Lincoln to the Costa del Sol.

The Grounds — A Living Canvas
The 7,132 m² grounds are a tapestry of romance and botanical abundance.
Winding paths reveal secret corners — trellises, gazebos, a fish pond, ancient olive trees, stone sculptures, and fountains murmuring softly beneath the Andalusian sun. A traditional wood-fired oven and barbecue area make entertaining effortless, while the south-facing pool glimmers against a backdrop of mountains and verdant valleys.
Sustainability is built into the rhythm of the land: mains utilities pair with a large private water deposit for eco-conscious irrigation. The gardens host 23 citrus trees, 3 avocado, 2 mango, and around 100 olive trees — a living orchard that blends beauty with bounty.
Three Homes, One Soul
Together, the trio of south-facing houses, built in the 1940s, radiate the timeless grace of Andalusian architecture with the comfort of modern living.

The Main Villa
Historic wooden doors open to a double-height hall leading to a bright living room with a wood-burning fireplace and access to the gardens. A kitchen designed for indoor-outdoor dining, guest WC, and flexible office or studio space complete the ground floor.
Upstairs, three bedrooms and two bathrooms frame sweeping views from the solarium, where the Mediterranean horizon meets the mountains. (The main villa is offered unfurnished.)
First Guest House
Warm and inviting, this residence features a fireplace lounge, kitchen, two bedrooms, and a family bathroom — all connected to a private terrace perfect for evening gatherings. (Sold furnished.)
Second Guest House
An open-plan retreat with a spacious living area and kitchen, large bedroom with its own terrace, and a charming covered patio at the entrance. (Sold furnished.)
Designed for Comfort and Potential
Each home enjoys its own entrance, ensuring both independence and privacy. A private driveway and enclosed parking provide ease of access.
Amenities include air conditioning, electric heating, fitted wardrobes, and additional storage rooms scattered across the grounds.
With an active holiday rental license and a strong record of guest reviews, the estate is not only a home but a ready-made lifestyle business — a blend of emotion, heritage, and opportunity.

Experience It for Yourself
Whether explored virtually or in person, this exceptional Cortijo invites you to experience a rare kind of Andalusian magic — one where life moves to the rhythm of sunlight, citrus, and sea breeze.
The price of this beautiful property is 1.250.000 Euros.
